Monday At Moms from Quilting My Way

Yesterday, mom turned 91. So, I went to Safeway this morning and picked up a cake for her. I thought there would be more at our meeting, but as it turned out, there was only three of us. Georgie, mom and myself.

I took my beading. I also took some fabric for mom and Georgie to work with. They almost have one of the panel quilts done. Since mom had to go get her teeth cleaned at 11 am, Georgie and I chatted. I was able to get part of the next ornament done.

I finished three of them there ...

Almost Done from Quilting My Way

This morning, I had to go down and cut batting and backing to take to Colleen this afternoon.

I was out the door and at moms about 10 minutes late. Sandy from Ocean Shores beat me to moms. We had a good visit with everyone. I was working on my rose piece. Mom and Georgie were asking about the quilts they are working on and are almost done with.

I worked on the beadwork on the leafy areas. The right side is almost done. I have the top and left side to do. Then it's done! It looks a ...

Brazilian Embroidery Day from Quilting My Way

Today, Patrick was off golfing. I got up and out the door.

First things first. Went to Safeway for meds and they said I had another one and to come back later. So, I headed to moms. I brought some of the cherry breads. I also had some to drop off at Phil's.

Went to PUD because they gave us a FINAL shut off notice. I asked why I didn't get a curtesy letter. She said they sent one out and they called. Well, the number they called was disconnected. So, we chatted and I told her we ...

My Weekly Monday from Quilting My Way

Today I was off to moms. I brought along some iced tea so I wouldn't have to stop.

Arrived at moms first. Then Gerilyn, Bonnie and Georgie came. We ended up "BSing" more than doing anything else. I did get some work on my embroidery though.

I was able to get the second one done with the first layer. I am going to have to wire the rest soon. We talked about sourdough bread, mom and her job as a protective payee, Sandy and her health. Just about everything.

Then I headed home by stopping at Colleens and picking ...

Virtual Class & Not Much After from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up and working on my embroidery for the class. I was early today. Our class started at 10 am. It wasn't much of doing anything, but a class of what was to come. There wasn't anyone in the class that finished working on the flower petals. We all commented that we would have been closer to being done if we had another week to work on it. Then we went our Loretta's patterns to see what she could offer in the future. Once we finished, my brain was saying, "Seems easy enough." But ...

Class Tomorrow - Not Ready from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up and working on my class piece. I also got a few things done for QOV. I got the certificate that needed to be mailed ready to go.

We went to the Post Office first, then to Walmart! UGH Wally World! I was lucky and got to the pharmacy right away. Normally there is a long line. Met Patrick at the entrance since he went to get the windshield wipers for the car. It's pretty good that we lasted a good 7 years with the ones we have. Now watch, we will have to replace ...

Trying To Get My Embroidery Ready For Class from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick went to meet up with his city friends. All the retired "bosses" get together about every 3 months and BS.

I was keeping busy with my game for a bit, then I went for my walk. I was able to get 5 laps in without the stick. I wanted to see if I could do it. My ankle did good till the last lap. While I was walking a young deer was coming down the road at me. He then went to the neighbor's drive.

Then it was time to sit and work on my embroidery ...

Embroidery Day & Lunch With Mom from Quilting My Way

This morning, it was our BE meeting. Like I was telling Sandy, we are about to drop out of the group at this rate. We have 6 of us and there are times only mom and I are meeting. I don't mind that much. At least I can spend time with her, and she doesn't get too upset when I don't come around. She did have the certificate that I needed to mail. So, I brought that home. Mom didn't have her earring aides in. She said they didn't charge overnight. I didn't talk ...

What A Day! And It's About Over! from Quilting My Way

This morning, I slept in again. I'm surprised I'm sleeping so late. Patrick said I snored all night. lol Poor guy. Allergies are back. UGH

I got moving this morning. Didn't play games but did get a few things done before meeting Sandy at the British Tea shop in Centralia. We had lunch there. Talked a good 2 1/2 hours since we haven't seen each other in over 6 months. Please we talked about her heart issues that she's dealing with now. Also talked about everything under the sun.

Came home around 2:30 ...

Embroidery & A Movie from Quilting My Way

This morning, I slept in till about 9:30 am which surprised me. I thought it was earlier than that. Patrick was up and heading out golfing. Bryan called me as he was leaving.

Bryan wanted me to get working on the program that helps me send things to him. I'm not on my genealogy lately, but now I guess I need to get moving on it. He also wants me to help him with getting a job. So, there are a couple reasons why he wants me on that program. It was complicated but Patrick helped me out ...

Stump Work Class Today from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was working on cleaning up my "inbox" and worked on some genealogy before me class started. I was on the computer when the phone rang, and I was late for the class. I thought it was at 10:30 am but it was at 10 am.  So, I joined up. I didn't have everything I needed, duh! Before Patrick went golfing, I was searching the house for the pattern! I thought I misplaced it, but I didn't. I had it with another stump work class I did a few years ago that's in the ...

Dinner Near Shelton from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was sleeping in. I had gone to bed early last night. I must have slept a good 10 hours. It isn't my norm.

When I got up, I got laundry going and then came into the computer room to work on a few things. I had to send a letter to a veteran to see if he was still interested in getting his quilt. Then I had to rework the application form as well as our Help Needed flyer.

Then I sat and played my game for a bit. Patrick was home after getting soaked golfing ...

Taking A Quilt Apart from Quilting My Way

This morning, it was BE day. I didn't do any BE work. Instead, I help mom by taking out the stitches on the anniversary quilt.

It was the one I did.

It was given to a quilter that is new and said she has quilted for years. I'm not showing the whole quilt that was quilted. I think even mom said she does good work. BUT this time she did not!

I did get some work done. It's coming out easily and the quilting was done by regular thread not quilting thread. That actually made it 100 ...

Monday - Brazilian Embroidery Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was out the door and off to moms. We are back to having it at moms. Geralyn was there with Georgie and Bonnie. So, five of us enjoyed each other's company.  Geralyn was working on her hedgehog that is so cute!

I worked on the darker red areas. I finished the rose bud area and then went to work on the petals to the right. They are done with the detached buttonhole and turned out better than I expected. I'm not really pleased with the center area, but it worked out. The outer part is ...

Embroidery Today & Getting Ready For Tomorrow from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up early. Had breakfast and played for a bit. Then I got all my stuff ready for the day. Loaded the car and headed to DB for my tea. It was a long line today. But I was only about 5 minutes late. Gerilyn was right behind me as was Sandy.

We had 5 of us and enjoyed it! I even ordered 4 of the "Welcome" pieces that we all want to work on. It's a training piece, but hopefully we will get it done as a group.

I worked on my rose.

I did ...

Embroidery Day from Quilting My Way

I am going to have to find something other than "Embroidery Day" for Monday's schedule. I can't seem to think of titles very well. I will work on it.

It was a day at moms. I stopped and got her a tea as well as myself. She wanted to talk about quilts, but Georgie and I worked on our embroidery. So, she finally started working on her applique. Georgie isn't happy with her piece, but I think it looks fine.

As for me, I'm not that thrilled with mine, but I will work on fixing it ...

Monday's Embroidery from Quilting My Way

I dropped off 2 quilt tops at Colleens and headed to moms. There were 5 of us. It was fun. Georgie and mom where working on QOV quilt stuff. I was working on my embroidery. I don't know why mom won't sit down and enjoy working on her applique instead of keeping busy with QOV stuff.

I worked on the pansy today. I started it and then came home to finish it. First, I went walking around the neighborhood, to get some walking in. Once that was done, I put the audiobook on and worked on finishing this ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATRICK - SEAHAWKS WON from Quilting My Way

Today was Patrick's Birthday. He didn't want anything and said it's just another day to him. I'm not that way when it comes to Birthdays, but then he treats it the same. lol

This morning, I wanted to get some stuff cleaned. I got started on laundry, that didn't get me far.

I had the Roomba going in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen/dining room. We then mopped the floor. I kept finding things that needed cleaning and was doing that. I think all morning was nothing but cleaning here and there. Like spring cleaning ...

Embroidery Today from Quilting My Way

This morning, I had a few things I needed to do before going to moms, but Patrick was kind enough to do them for me. So, I headed to Colleen's to pick up 3 quilts that needed the bindings done. Then I stopped at Dutch Brothers for tea. Got one for mom as well.

Arrived at moms to drop off 5 quilts that needed binding. She had 4 others that she needed to do as well. She sewed on one that was Georgie's, so she could do her own quilt. There was another one that was Georgie's ...

Trip To Olympia In The Rain from Quilting My Way

Today, we had to be up and ready to leave. We needed to get mom to her appointment by 11 am. So, we went to pick her up at 10 am.

We picked her up and had a few things we needed to do when we dropped her off. So, we took her to the dentist in Olympia that could take care of her root canal. They checked her out, then they came out to let Patrick and I know it would be an hour. I played on my phone for a bit and then got into my bag, that ...
